The human happiness that inevitably accompanies a purposeful life lived on the basis of my teachings is the only "proof" that my writings correspond to reality - but it is also the only full-fledged proof! I am far from giving "proof" of what can be proven at any time in the lives of those who live by my words.

Although I write every book with the intention of placing a permanent adviser in the reader's hands, I especially wish that „The Book on Happiness“ would be visible and accessible to all my readers, because while in other books I often deal with matters far away from everyday life, here I have said quite a few things that make it worthwhile to pick up this book again every day in order to become thoroughly acquainted with its teachings.
